history

Today's Verkehrsgesellschaft Breitenbach was founded in 1927 as a limousine service company. The first touring coach was procured in the 1930s. After the war the company Breitenbach Touristik procured further coaches; in addition, there were own scheduled services in the greater Hamm area.

The first low-floor bus was procured in 1993 ; In 2003 the entire fleet was converted to handicapped-friendly low-floor buses.

In 2006, the company was the first bus transport company in Europe to receive ten buses that comply with the Euro 5 emissions standard that will only come into force in 2009 . In 2007, another nine vehicles followed, this time even complying with the EEV standard. This means that exhaust gas and particulate matter emissions have fallen to the level of a natural gas bus. In 2008 VG Breitenbach continued its environmentally oriented vehicle procurement : Another articulated bus was procured that bears the Blue Angel environmental label . Recently 15 new MAN buses were ordered, the first of which have already been delivered.

On May 25, 2016, the company took over operations in parts of the Soest West line bundle with the Werl city bus and some bus routes between Menden, Wickede, Neheim, Ense and Voßwinkel.

On June 1, 2018, the company took over the R43 line between Neheim and Werl from Busverkehr Ruhr-Sieg and set up a new S40 express bus line on the Neheim - Werl - Welver route. Since November 1, 2018, the company has taken over the operation of the R42 line between Wickede and Werl from Busverkehr Ruhr-Sieg.
