The publishing house at Birnbach relocated Christian literature and materials for community work in Protestant and Catholic churches . It is based in Birnbach near Altenkirchen (Westerwald).

history

Verlag am Birnbach was founded in 1996 as a limited liability company by the shareholders Klaus Blome, Jörg Büttke and Detlef Mally. Detlef Mally was appointed managing director. The founders had previously worked as independent sales representatives with Rufer Verlag und Handelsgesellschaft mbH, based in Gorxheimertal near Weinheim .

In 1996 the Rufer company, which belonged to the Gütersloher publishing house ( Bertelsmann ), was liquidated. In order to continue to ensure the supply of the communities, this publishing house was founded, which took over the production and inventory of the Rufer Versandbuchhandlung from Gorxheimertal . The founders continue to look after the communities as an independent travel and mail order bookshop. The place Birnbach near Altenkirchen in the Westerwald was the namesake of the new publishing house. The Verlag am Birnbach has been designing and selling its own visual interpretations of the Christian annual slogans since 2000 in cooperation with various artists (e.g. Sieger Köder , Walter Habdank , Kees de Kort , Michael Blum and Stefanie Bahlinger) . As a result of the expansion of the program, a new trading company (Verlag am Birnbach - Bücher direkt) was founded for Verlag am Birnbach in 2002, which, in addition to the publishing program, sells the entire theological program of all Christian publishers as a mail-order bookshop .

purpose

Verlag am Birnbach sees itself as a supplier for Christian needs. A wide variety of items are produced by Verlag am Birnbach GmbH, from postcards and distribution letters for various occasions to books .

The manufacture of devotional objects has increased significantly in recent years . The non-book area now plays a large part in the company's success . Originally it was mostly Protestant congregations who bought the publisher's products, but now it is increasingly Catholic congregations and private customers who are in contact via the publisher's website .
