The publisher Point is a cape on the coast of the West Antarctic Marie Byrd lands . It marks the west side of the entrance to Siniff Bay .
The United States Geological Survey mapped the cape on the basis of its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1959 and 1965. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1974 after William Frederick Verleger (1878–1955) of the US Navy Reserve Forces, who as Captain of the SS Jacob Ruppert made a trip to the Bay of Whales in 1933 as part of the second Antarctic expedition (1933-1935) of the US polar explorer Richard Evelyn Byrd .
