Veronika Šarec (born May 8, 1968 in Ljubljana ) is a former Slovenian ski racer .

Šarec, which starts for Yugoslavia , has won a world cup race, the slalom in Haus im Ennstal on January 14, 1990 (ahead of Monika Maierhofer and Claudia Strobl ). She had her first podium as third in the slalom of Piancavallo on December 19, 1987, with a sensational fastest time in the second run from 18th place.
At the 1991 World Ski Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm , she took 4th place in the giant slalom . In the spring of 1992 she announced her retirement from top-class sport.
