Veronika Bilgeri (born January 25, 1966 ) is a former German luge athlete .
Veronika Bilgeri from Gaißach was the most successful West German luge athlete in the second half of the 1980s. From 1986 to 1988 she was German champion three times in a row. The high point of his career was the year 1988. At the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary in 1988 Bilgeri missed a medal in fourth place behind Steffi Martin , Ute Oberhoffner and Cerstin Schmidt . At the European Luge Championships in Königssee in 1988 , she won the silver medal in second place behind Oberhoffner. In addition, she won the team competition held for the first time together with Georg Hackl , Johannes Schettel , Kerstin Langkopf , Thomas Schwab and Wolfgang Staudinger .
