Veronika Grimm

Veronika Grimm (born September 5, 1971 ) is a German economist and has held the chair for economics, especially economic theory, at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg since 2008 . She is also chair of the scientific management of the Energie Campus Nürnberg (EnCN), board member of the Zentrum Hydrogen.Bayern (H2.B) and director of the Laboratory for Experimental Research Nuremberg (LERN). In 2020 she was appointed to the Expert Council to assess macroeconomic developments .

Life

After studying economics and sociology at the Universities of Hamburg and Kiel , she did her doctorate in 2002 at the Humboldt University in Berlin under Elmar Wolfstetter . Then Grimm was at the Universidad de Alicante and three years at the University of Cologne , where she completed her habilitation with Axel Ockenfels . She spent longer research stays at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and the Université Catholique de Louvain .

In 2008 she was appointed to the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg , where she became director of the Laboratory for Experimental Research Nuremberg (LERN) . In 2010 she became head of the economy department at the Energie Campus Nürnberg (EnCN).

Offices

Grimm is active in several committees and advisory boards, including the Scientific Advisory Board at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy , the Expert Commission on the Monitoring Process "Energy of the Future" at the BMWi , the Future Group of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research , the Advisory Council for Consumer Questions and Energy Steering Panel of the European Academies Science Advisory Council (EASAC).

In 2020, Grimm and Monika Schnitzer were appointed to the Advisory Council as a so-called economic method to assess the overall economic development .

Grimm's research focuses on the areas of energy markets and energy market modeling, behavioral economics , social networks, as well as auctions and market design . At the Energie Campus Nürnberg she heads the research area “Energy Market Design”.

Private

Veronika Grimm is married and lives with her husband, two sons and a daughter in Nuremberg. In her free time, she trains an e-youth team in football.
