Veronika Radulovic

Veronika Radulovic (born January 28, 1954 in Delbrück ) is a German artist .

Life

Veronika Radulovic studied "Visual Communication" (drawing / illustration / writing) at the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences from 1977 to 1983 under Karl Heinz Meyer , Roland Günter , and Gerd Fleischmann . She took part in numerous symposia, especially on art in public spaces. In 1988/89 she taught as a guest lecturer at the Free Art School in Szentendre , Hungary (with Akos Birkas, Szirtes Janos, Fe Lugossy) and in 1992/93 she was artist in residence at the Artist Village in Singapore (with Tang Da Wu, Lee Wen, Zai Kuning).

Works

In 1993 she learned the Vietnamese lacquer technique "Son Mai" in Hanoi , Vietnam . In February 1994 she showed her work in a joint exhibition that was possible for the first time with Le Hong Thai and Bui Huu Hung in the state exhibition house 29 Hang Bai in Hanoi. From 1994 to 2005 she was the first German to teach a. a. as a guest lecturer at the DAAD  - at the École des Beaux Arts d'Indochine (Vietnam University of the Arts) in Hanoi. During these twelve years she was not only a witness, but also an important mediator of contemporary international art in Vietnam, at a university that was still influenced by French academism and socialist realism . The exhibition projects Nuoc-Wasser and Cay-Baum , which she conceived at this university, took place in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut Hanoi , among others .

As a curator, she worked on the exhibition projects Gap Vietnam (1998/99) in the House of World Cultures in Berlin, Lack Erde Steine (1996) in the Museum für Lackkunst Münster and Ryllega Berlin (2008) in the glass pavilion at the Volksbühne Berlin .

In 2006, she published her safety distance. Art, Vietnam, politics, friendships. An approximation . In 2007 she worked on the “Art and Construction” project of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in the Brackwede  II penal institution with the title Wenn ich heute ... Freistundenhof and functional room hairdresser . In 2008 she led the international workshop “Open Academy” in Hanoi and Huế together with Nguyen Minh Phuoc, Truong Tan and Nguyen Minh Thanh.

She was the curator and organization of the Open Academy 2010 in Hanoi / Hue and HCMC (together with Andreas Schmid) as part of the Germany Vietnam Year.
