Veronika Vitzthum (born March 11, 1963 in Unken ) is a former Austrian ski racer .
She celebrated her World Cup debut in 1981 in the downhill from Saalbach (AUT) with a 9th place. The downhill also remained her specialty, she achieved three podium places in her career:
- January 29, 1983: 3rd place in Les Diablerets (SUI) behind Doris De Agostini (SUI) and Elisabeth Kirchler (AUT)
- January 7, 1984: 2nd place in Puy St. Vincent (FRA) behind Gerry Sorensen (CAN)
- December 21, 1984: 2nd place in Santa Caterina (ITA) behind Elisabeth Kirchler (AUT)
Her risky driving style did not always pay off, because she never really recovered from her serious knee injuries - falls in the races in Bad Gastein (AUT), 1984 and Bad Kleinkirchheim (AUT), 1985.
1986 Vitzthum ended her active racing career with an 11th place in the Super-G of Vail (USA).
