Bonnie Bedelia

Bonnie Bedelia (* 25. March 1948 as Bonnie Bedelia Culkin in New York ) is an American actress .

Life

Bedelia grew up with three siblings, her brother Christopher is also an actor and father of Macaulay , Kieran and Rory Culkin . At the age of nine, she appeared in her first theater production at the North Jersey Playhouse. She trained as a ballet dancer at the New York City Ballet with George Balanchine and studied acting at Hunter College .

From 1961 she played five years in the soap opera Love of Life . Between 1962 and 1966 she starred in various roles on Broadway and as a guest star on television series such as High Chaparral . In 1969 she made her feature film debut in Risking Your Neck, starring Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr . In the same year she married the screenwriter Kenneth Luber and had their first child the following year. For this reason, she rarely appeared in the 1970s, including in episodes of Bonanza and Hawkins .

After their divorce in 1980, she turned back to her acting career. In 1983 she had a leading role in ... and when the last tire blows , for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award . She became better known in Germany as the wife of John McClane in Die Hard and the sequel Die Hard 2 . Since the 1990s she has mainly worked as a television actress and was nominated twice for an Emmy . From 2001 to 2004 she played one of the leading roles in the series Lady Cops - Knallhart Female .

Bedelia has been married to actor Michael McRae for the third time since 1995 . She has two children from her first marriage to Kenneth Luber (1969–1980).
