The Veronikahöhle is a cave in the Swabian Alb ( Baden-Württemberg ).
Description of the cave
The Veronikahöhle is characterized by its south-facing, 6 meter high and 3 meter wide rock portal. Behind it there is an approximately 15 meter long crevasse, which suddenly bends to the top right. The cave floor consists of fine clay deposits . The corridor rises about 6 meters and ends in a cave dome that has been decorated with modern cave paintings . At the far end, a chimney rises steeply, but it has collapsed and would end another 7 meters up in the Verena-Baggins-Loch . Overall, the Veronika Cave is given as 31 meters long and 45 meters high.
Geographical location
The Veronika Cave is located on the Teckberg at 735 m above sea level. NN about one kilometer south of Teck Castle and above the village of Owen and the Lenninger Valley .
Directions
From the Bölle hiking car park, you climb steeply to Teck Castle . When you reach the ridge, turn right. First you reach the upper yellow rock , then along the slope edge after about 50 meters the main rock yellow rock . Here is the unsecured entry to the Verena-Beutlins-Loch dem ("chimney" of the Veronikahöhle ). To the right of the Yellow Rock , a narrow path leads down to the Veronika Cave .
