The ordinance on vocational training to become a horse manager (PfWirtAusbV) defines the training occupation “ horse manager ” in Germany as officially recognized within the meaning of Section 4 (1) BBiG and represents the training regulations required for this profession according to Section 4 BBiG .

For the occupational profiles, vocational training plans and examination requirements summarized in the first ordinance on vocational training as a horse trader from November 1, 1975 ( Federal Law Gazette I p. 2719 ), previously scattered regulations laid down in the administrative procedure applied .

The current version of the ordinance of June 7, 2010 ( Federal Law Gazette I p. 728 ) contains provisions on the duration (§ 2 PfWirtAusbV) and structure (§ 3 PfWirtAusbV) of the training and, in particular, on a training framework plan (§ 4 PfWirtAusbV, annex to § 4 Paragraph 1 PfWirtAusbV), for the implementation of the training (§ 5 PfWirtAusbV) and for an intermediate examination (§ 6 PfWirtAusbV). Sections 7–11 PfWirtAusbV regulate the requirements for the final examinations in the individual subject areas of the occupational profile , namely horse keeping and service , horse breeding , classic riding training , horse racing and special riding styles . On August 1, 2010 already existing apprenticeships could be continued according to the new regulations if the contracting parties agreed accordingly , taking into account the previously completed apprenticeship time (§ 12 PfWirtAusbV).

Requirements for the training facility for vocational training to become a horse manager are set out in the ordinance on the suitability of the training facility for professional training to become a horse manager of February 7, 2011 ( Federal Law Gazette I p. 228 ). The legal basis for the master craftsman's examination in the already learned profession of “horse manager” is the regulation on the requirements in the master’s examination for the profession of horse manager from February 4, 1980 ( Federal Law Gazette I p. 131 ).
