The Board Office of the Bundeswehr (VpflABw) is a local authority in the division of the Federal Ministry of Defense (MoD). It reports directly to the Federal Office for Infrastructure, Environmental Protection and Services , but only for official purposes. As an EU-approved food business operator in accordance with Regulation EU 178/2002, the catering office is solely responsible for technical matters and food law.

As the central food entrepreneur of the Bundeswehr and service provider for the Bundeswehr administration , the catering office bears overall operational responsibility for the procurement and storage of food supplies for the Bundeswehr as well as for the operation of all military kitchens .

In addition, the Office's headquarters are in Oldenburg , the one-man packs together the army and stored. The duties of the office also include supplying the armed forces on missions abroad with food.

history

Until 2001 there were four catering offices nationwide: North ( Oldenburg / Lower Saxony ), West ( Gillenfeld / Rhineland-Palatinate ), East ( Berlin ) and South ( Kempten / Bavaria ). The last three named have been satellite camps since 2001, Oldenburg became the nationwide headquarters.
