Verrucarin A is a mycotoxin (mold toxin) from the group of macrocyclic trichothecenes . It arises as a metabolic product of the fungus Myrothecium roridum .
Extraction and presentation
Verrucarin A can be obtained from anguidine , propargyl alcohol and furfural .
use
Verrucarin A and also Verrucarin J are being investigated not only for the growth inhibition of the androgen-dependent prostate cancer cells LNCaP, but also for the growth inhibition of the androgen-independent prostate cancer cells DU-145.
