Administrative community Tangermünde
In the administrative community of Tangermünde of the Stendal district , eight communities were united to handle their administrative business. The community of Schelldorf , which originally belonged to the administrative community , changed to the administrative community of Tangerhütte-Land on December 27, 2007 .
The Tangermünde administrative community on the south-eastern edge of the Altmark enclosed the area north, west and south of the city of Tangermünde in a semicircle. In the east, the Elbe formed the border with the Jerichower Land district . The authority had its seat in the eponymous city Tangermünde.
On January 1, 2010, the administrative community was dissolved. The member communities joined together to form the unified community Tangermünde .
11,409 inhabitants (June 30, 2006) lived in the administrative community Tangermünde on an area of 89.87 km². The last administrative manager was Rudolf Opitz.
