Langensalzwedel is a district of the city of Tangermünde in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany).

The village of Langensalzwedel is located on the southeast edge of the Altmark , between the cities of Stendal and Tangermünde . The left bank of the Elbe is approx. 4 km from Langensalzwedel.

history

Until December 31, 2009 Langensalzwedel was an independent municipality and belonged to the now dissolved administrative community Tangermünde .

By means of an area change agreement, the municipality of Langensalzwedel decided on June 9, 2009 that the municipality of Langensalzwedel should be incorporated into the city of Tangermünde. This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 1, 2010.

After incorporating the previously independent municipality of Langensalzwedel, Langensalzwedel became part of the city of Tangermünde. For the incorporated municipality, the local constitution was introduced according to §§ 86 ff. Of the municipality code of Saxony-Anhalt .
