The Greifswald Administrative Court is a court within the administrative jurisdiction of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

  • The court has its seat in the Hanseatic city of Greifswald .

    The judicial district includes the districts of Mecklenburg Lake District , Western Pomerania-Greifswald and Western Pomerania-Rügen . The other districts and the two independent cities of the state form the district of the Schwerin Administrative Court .

    In Staff Committee matters , methods from the right of open property issues and processes for the cleanup of SED -Unrecht and certain disciplinary matters and numerus clausus procedure is the Court for the District of the Higher Administrative Court of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and thus for the territory of all counties and cities of the province responsible. From 2005 to 2015, the Schwerin Administrative Court was responsible for the entire federal state in the field of asylum law. Since 2016, the local jurisdiction for asylum disputes has been based on the nationality of the foreigner. Accordingly, the Greifswald Administrative Court is responsible for a list of certain countries of origin, while the Schwerin Administrative Court is responsible for all other countries of origin.

    The court is housed in the same listed building at Domstrasse 7 that also houses the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Constitutional Court and the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Higher Administrative Court.

    The court is subordinate to the Upper Administrative Court of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The Federal Administrative Court is superordinate to this.
