The Brüttisellen junction (colloquially also Brüttiseller Kreuz ) is a motorway junction in the Brüttisellen district of the municipality of Wangen-Brüttisellen in Switzerland . It is located on the A1 , the main traffic axis between Zurich and Winterthur .
location
The Brüttisellen junction is on a level in the municipality of Wangen-Brüttisellen in the canton of Zurich . There, the Oberlandautobahn (A53) coming from the southeast meets the A1 running from southwest to northeast, which is also the A4 on this section of the route . From the north-west, the Brüttisellen motorway junction also leads to the Brüttisellen junction - the real reason why the actual motorway junction is also called “cross”. A continuation of the A53 towards Kloten was also planned there. In the meantime, the possible connection in the structure plan is further east and leads mostly underground via Kloten (connection to the A51 ) back to the A1 near Zurich-Seebach.
It is possible to go up or down in all directions from all sides. Coming from Zurich, two lanes lead to Winterthur , another two to the A53 and one to Brüttisellen .
Due to its location near Zurich, the Brüttisellen junction is very busy. Around 130,000 vehicles pass the junction every day. Traffic jams occur regularly.
Signage
The Brüttisellen junction is signposted as a motorway junction ( ). In the list of exits and junctions on the Swiss autobahn, this is number 66.
