Veteris
Veteris , also Vitiris , Hveteris and other variations, is the name of a Celtic deity named in over 50 inscriptions from the area of Hadrian's Wall in northern England . There is no Interpretatio Romana , but the Celtic name is mentioned once in Netherby (North Yorkshire) together with Mogon .
The mentions are made both in the singular and in the plural, the often occurring addition DEO or DIBUS suggests a male god, in two inscriptions from Concangis (today Chester-le-Street , County Durham ), The Roman Inscriptions of Britain (RIB) [ 1] and The Roman Inscriptions of Britain (RIB) [2] , a female deity is to be assumed. The sites along Hadrian's Wall indicate that it was worshiped by the Roman legions stationed there.
