VfB Südstadt Karlsruhe

VfB Südstadt was established in 1896. Under the name of Karlsruher FC Südstadt, in 1900 it was one of the founding members of the German Football Association . In 1924 the club left the DFB and joined the Workers' Gymnastics and Sports Association . The political events led to the ban and the dissolution of the association in 1933.

After the Second World War it was re-established. From 1946 the club took part in the game again. In 1990, the Espanol Karlsruhe football club, founded in 1972, joined VfB Südstadt as an independent club. In 2015, FC Espanol and PSK both play in the Central Baden regional soccer league. From this, Post Südstadt Karlsruhe had to relegate to the district league in 2016.

The Post Sports Club was founded in 1927. In 1933 almost the entire men's team of the Free Gymnastics Association in Karlsruhe joined the Post Sports Club due to the ban. After the Second World War , the Post Sports Club took part in football matches from 1955.

Development in basketball

In 1961 the basketball department of the Post Sports Club was founded. With the promotion of the men's team to the ProB after the 2015/2016 regional league season, the cooperation ended.
