SG ASC / VfV Spandau

The SG ASC / VfV Spandau was a syndicate (SG) from Spandau ( Berlin ). The syndicate consisted of the Askanischer Sportclub (ASC) Spandau and the Verein für Volkssport (VfV) Spandau. The handball community operated women's and men's teams as well as junior teams.

The first women's team, which rose to the 2nd handball league after the 1989/1990 regional league season and played there from the 1990/1991 to the 1993/1994 season , contributed to the success of the syndicate . After the 1999/2000 regional league season , the SG voluntarily relegated to the league. In the 2011/2012 season the team plays in the handball league Ostsee-Spree .

The SG ASC / VfV Spandau was dissolved again and the handball department in the VfV Spandau club continued.

Colja Löffler is one of the well-known former players .

The Association for Volkssport Spandau 1922 e. V. was founded in 1922 with the athletics and handball departments. It currently has over 1000 members. The main areas of the club are handball , athletics , tennis , triathlon , as well as children's and popular sports.

With the Askanischer Sportclub (ASC) Spandau, the Verein für Volkssport (VfV) Spandau joined forces to form the SG ASC / VfV Spandau syndicate in the field of handball, which ran from the 1990/1991 season to the 1993/1994 season in the 2nd Bundesliga (Women) played. After the 2011/2012 season in the handball league Ostsee-Spree, the SG was dissolved again and the handball department in the club VfV Spandau continued.
