Vicente Casanova y Marzol
Vicente Cardinal Casanova y Marzol (born April 16, 1854 in Borja , Spain , † October 23, 1930 in Saragossa ) was Archbishop of Granada .
Life
Vicente Casanova y Marzol received his philosophical and theological training in the seminaries of Saragossa and Madrid . He received the sacrament of ordination in 1881 and a year later acquired the license to teach Catholic theology at the University of Valencia . He then worked as a pastor in Maluenda and Alfaro in the diocese of Tarazona before he became pastor in Madrid.
In 1907 Pope Pius X appointed him Bishop of Almería , in 1925 Pope Pius XI appointed him . the direction of the Archdiocese of Granada. In the same year the Pope accepted him as a cardinal priest with the titular church Santi Vitale, Valeria, Gervasio e Protasio in the College of Cardinals .
Vicente Cardinal Casanova y Marzol died on October 23, 1930 in Saragossa and was buried in the Metropolitan Basilica of Granada.
