Cardinal Agustín Parrado García (born October 5, 1872 in Fuensaldaña , Spain , † October 8, 1946 in Granada ) was Archbishop of Granada .

Life

Agustín Parrado García received the sacrament of ordination on September 21, 1895 after studying Catholic theology and philosophy in Valladolid . He then worked as a lecturer at the seminary and at the Pontifical University of Valladolid , before he worked for the diocesan court in Astorga and ran a Catholic newspaper. In 1922 he became dean of the Pontifical University of Salamanca and diocesan official.

In 1925 Pope Pius XI appointed him . the Bishop of Palencia , 1934 Archbishop of Granada. Pope Pius XII awarded him the title of Papal Assistant to the Throne in 1945 and accepted him on February 18, 1946 as a Cardinal Priest with the titular Church of Sant'Agostino in the College of Cardinals .

Agustín Parrado García died after a long illness that same year, on October 8, 1946, in Granada and was buried in the local basilica .
