Vicente Saldivar
Vicente Saldivar Samuel García (* 3. May 1943 in Mexico City , Mexico ; † 18th July 1985 ) was a Mexican boxer in the featherweight .
Professional career
On September 26, 1964, he became world champion of the WBC and WBA associations when he defeated the Cuban Sugar Ramos in a 15-round fight in the 12th round by giving up. He defended this title seven times in a row. In 1968 the title was revoked.
On May 9th in 1970 he won the WBC world championship belt for the second time with a unanimous victory over Johnny Famechon , but lost it early in December of the same year against Kuniaki Shibata in round 12.
