Victor Dourlen
Victor Charles Paul Dourlen (born November 3, 1780 in Dunkirk , † January 8, 1864 in Paris ) was a French composer .
Victor Dourlen was a student of François Joseph Gossec and François-Adrien Boieldieu , he taught harmony and counterpoint at the Paris Conservatory from 1800 to 1842, and has been a professor since 1816; His prominent students include the pianists and composers Charles Valentin Alkan , Henri Herz and Antoine François Marmontel .
He composed several comic operas , a piano concerto, piano, flute and violin sonatas and cantatas . His program musical orchestral piece The Battle of Marengo became famous .
