Victor Toyka

Victor Toyka (born August 24, 1875 in Katowice ; † May 4, 1942 ) was a German industrialist .

Life

Victor Toyka completed an apprenticeship at the iron works in Katowice and then worked temporarily in a company in Szczecin before moving to Berlin at the local hardware store Jacob & Co. Ravene only employee , then Handlungsbevollmächtigter was.

On October 1, 1905, Toyka became an authorized signatory at the iron wholesaler Heinr in Dortmund . Aug. Schulte . During the First World War he established "a close connection to the German-Luxemburgish Mining and Hütten-AG and thus gave the iron wholesaler strong factory support". Entrepreneurially strengthened, Eisen-AG was able to found the United Stahlwerke AG under Toyka and through this take over all the other founding companies in northwest Germany. Even during the Weimar Republic , Toyka expanded the AG's sphere of activity through various branches and participations in smaller iron dealers.

Meanwhile, Toyka made a name for itself in the Dortmund sports scene . He retired in 1933 , the year the seizure of power by the Nazis , "for health reasons" from the Heinr. Aug. Schulte AG . He died in the middle of World War II at the age of 66.

Toyka was also the business leader of the German Gymnastics Association in the early 1930s .

The Victor-Toyka-Strasse in Dortmund, where the sports club TSC Eintracht Dortmund has its headquarters, was named after the iron trade board.
