Victor de Laprade
Pierre Martin Victor Richard de Laprade (born January 13, 1812 in Montbrison , † December 13, 1883 in Lyon ) was a French poet.
Life
Victor de Laprade studied law in Lyon and pursued a career as a lawyer. As a poet, he first made himself known through the Lamartine style poem Les parfums de Madeleine (1839).

- Idylles héroïques (1858)
After he was appointed a member of the Académie française in 1858 , he published the following prose works:
- Questions d'art et de morale (1861);
- Les arbres du Luxembourg (1865);
- Le sentiment de la nature avant le christianisme (1866) and
- Prolégomènes (1883) and the corresponding script
- Le sentiment de la nature chez les modern (1867);
- L'éducation homicide (1867) and
- L'éducation liberale (1873); the excellent poetry
- Pernette (1868) and the tragedy
- Harmodius (1870);
- Contre la musique (1880);
- Essais de critique idéaliste (1882);
- Le livre d'un père (1876) et al
Laparde was considered Lamartine's successor among his compatriots . His monotonous poems are characterized by mysticism and idealism . He also used the satirical tone, especially in the Poëmes civiques (1873) and in the collection of poems Tribuns et courtisans (1875). A collection of his ŒOuvres poétiques was published in 6 volumes from 1878–1881.
From 1871 to 1873 Laprade was a member of the right-wing center of the National Assembly of Versailles .
