Victoria Basin

The Victoria Basin (ger .: Victoria Basin ) is a sedimentary basins in the Northern Territory in Australia .

The rock layers, which are around 950 m thick , were formed in the Neoproterozoic 850 to 700 million years ago. The sedimentary basin is part of the Centralian Superbasin , which stretches across Western Australia . The Victoria Basin partially overlays the Pine Creek Orogen and the Birrindudu Basin and is itself partially covered by the Wiso Basin , Daly Basin and Wolfe Basin , as well as by the Kalkarinji Province . Limestone , sandstone , dolomite and siltstone are found in the Victoria Basin .

There are no economically significant mineral deposits there, but metal and uranium deposits are suspected.
