Victoria Pelova (born June 3, 1999 in Delft ) is a Dutch soccer player who has played for Ajax Amsterdam in the Eredivisie since 2019 . In 2018 she had her first appearance in the Dutch national soccer team for women .

Career

Pelova began playing football in her birthplace at DSV Concordia and was signed by the Dutch first division club ADO Den Haag for the 2016/17 season . In her first season, she reached fourth place with ADO and scored seven goals as the second best goalscorer in her team. In the following season she scored five goals in the regular season, but her team had to be sixth in the relegation playoffs, in which they avoided relegation as the best team, to which they contributed six goals. For the 2019/20 season, she moved to Ajax Amsterdam , where she received a three-year contract.

National team

In April 2017, she qualified with the U-19s for the 2017 U-19 European Women's Football Championship . In this she was used in two group games and in the semi-finals, which were lost 3-2 to Spain, where she achieved the 1: 1 in the meantime. In October 2017 and April 2018 she took part again with the U-19 team in the two qualifying rounds for the 2018 U-19 European Women's Football Championship . She was then able to qualify with her team for the finals in Switzerland , but did not take part. Instead, she was part of the squad that took part in the 2018 U-20 Women's World Cup, which took place just a few days later and for which the Dutch women qualified for the first time as semi-finalists in the 2017 U-19 European Championship. There she was used in the three group matches and in the quarter-finals, which were lost 2-1 to England, in which she had put her team 1-0 ahead.

She made her first appearance in the senior national team in January 2018 . In the game that was lost 2-0 to Spain on January 20, she was substituted on in the 81st minute. Her second assignment followed a year later. In the 2-1 win in Cape Town against South Africa , she was substituted on in the second half. At the Algarve Cup 2019 , she met Spain again, coming on in the 58th minute and losing again 2-0.

After these three international matches, she was nominated as the youngest player for the provisional World Cup squad . But it was not used at the World Cup.
