The Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax Vrouwen ( AFC Ajax Vrouwen for short ) is a football club in the Dutch capital, Amsterdam .

history

The women's football department of Ajax Amsterdam was founded on May 18, 2012 after a call by the KNVB and will take part in the BeNe League for the first time in the 2012/13 season . The first players to sign up were Daphne Koster from Telstar and Anouk Hoogendijk from FC Utrecht . On May 30, 2012, the former national coach of the Dutch national soccer team Ed Engelke was signed as the first coach in history.

Stadion

The women's team plays its home games on the main square in De Toekomst sports park .

Ajax has a farm team in Torrance , California . Ajax America plays in the American Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) and plays its home games at Nansen Field in Rolling Hills Estate , California. In addition, under the direction of the KNVB , the CTO Amsterdam Talent Team , founded in 2007, was taken over in summer 2013.
