Vanity Tonja Caroll Lewerissa (born April 1, 1991 in Maastricht ) is a Dutch soccer player who has been with the Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam since 2018 . In 2015 she played for the first time in the Dutch national football team .

Career

societies

After her youth at WVV '28, Lewerissa played for VVV-Venlo from 2010 to 2011 . In 2011 she moved to the Belgian champions Standard Liège , who played in the top Belgian league until 2012 and has been playing in the new joint Belgian-Dutch women's league BeNe League since 2012 . With Liège, she became champion, cup winner and Supercup winner in her first year. In the following two years, behind the Dutch club FC Twente Enschede , the second place was occupied, whereby Liège became Belgian champions. In the 2014/15 season, Liège was able to reverse the situation and was first in the league before Twente and thus again Belgian champions.

As a champion, Liège took part in the UEFA Women's Champions League . On September 27, 2011 Lewerissa played her first Champions League game in the round of 32 of the 2011/12 UEFA Women's Champions League , but lost 2-0 at home. The second leg was won 4: 3, but the goal difference spoke for the Danes. In the following year came the end in the round of 32 , this time against 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam with two defeats (1: 3 and 0: 5). 2013/14 also ended in the round of 32, this time against Glasgow City LFC . Lewerissa scored the 1-0 at 2-2 in the first leg. In 2014 , the team had to qualify through the group stage, with Lewerissa being used in the three group games. It was a 10-0 win against Cardiff Met. LFC , with Lewerissa scoring two goals, and a 1-0 win against ASA Tel-Aviv FC , but since they lost 1-0 to Portuguese champions Atlético Ouriense , the Belgians were eliminated of direct comparison. After winning the 2015/16 championship, Liège was able to make a new attempt in the 2015/16 UEFA Women's Champions League season , but without Lewerissa, as she moved to PSV Eindhoven for the 2015/16 season.

She moved to Ajax for the 2018/19 season. With Ajax she won the Dutch Cup, scoring the 2-1 winner against Zwolle in the final in the third minute of stoppage time.

National team

She wore the orange jersey for the first time on June 1, 2006 for the U-17 team in a friendship tournament and then took part in several friendlies. She played her first competitive game in October 2007 in qualifying for the U-17 European Women's Football Championship in 2008 , the first European championship for this female age group. The Dutch women prevailed in the first round together with the host Polish women and reached the second round. In this round, held in March 2008, the English women were stronger. She had already played for the U19 team for the first time in November of the previous year, for which she then competed in the 2nd qualifying round for the 2008 U19 European Women's Football Championship , but failed because of Spain. In September she made a new attempt with the U-19s and was able to qualify for the 2nd round at a tournament in Lithuania together with Spain. This took place in Switzerland in April 2009 and the Swiss women use their home advantage. She was also there for the next edition and now benefited from the home advantage in the first round. The second round, in which the Dutch women again had home rights, took place without them. Her teammates were able to qualify for the finals , in which they then took part again. Lewerissa was used in the three group games through which her team reached the semi-finals. This then took place without her and her teammates failed in the penalty shoot-out to England. This ended her time as a junior national player.

She made her first international match for the senior national team almost five years later on March 6, 2015 in the Cyprus Cup 2015 against Canada . The Dutch women could not confirm their performances from the World Cup qualification in Cyprus and lost z. B. the game for 7th place against the Scottish women , who they had eliminated in the World Cup playoffs . On April 15, 2015 she was initially appointed to the provisional squad for the 2015 World Cup and then to the final squad on May 10. But it was not used at the World Cup. She was also nominated for the 2017 European Championship in her home country. At the EM, she only had a four-minute short assignment in the group game against Belgium . She was not nominated for the 2019 World Cup.
