Victorino Vázquez

Victorino Vázquez (* 1918 in Guadalajara , Jalisco ; † 1989 in Tijuana , Baja California ), also known by the nickname El Zarco ( Spanish for "the blue-eyed "), was a Mexican soccer player who played mainly in midfield .

“Zarco” Vázquez began his footballing career in the youth division of his home club Club Modelo and moved to Club Deportivo Oro in the youth division , where he later made the jump to the first team. Because of his good performance, he was appointed to the selection team of the Selección Jalisco , which participated from 1940 to 1943 in the League Mayor , which was still officially operated on amateur status .

When professional football was introduced in Mexico in 1943, he moved to Club Deportivo Guadalajara , for which he played the first games in the club's history in professional football; both in the cup competition and in the championship .
