Viehhausen is a district of the Upper Bavarian municipality of Kranzberg in the Freising district , on the western edge of the Kranzberger Forest.

history

Viehhausen is mentioned for the first time in a Freising document from 1232, in which a certain Heinricus de Vihusen is mentioned. In 1760, the hamlet belonging to the district court of Kranzberg consisted of four properties, three of which belonged to the Elector of Bavaria and one to the Weihenstephan Monastery . As part of the community education after the Second Gemeindeedikt in 1818 was Viehhausen part of the community Gremertshausen . With this it was incorporated into the municipality of Kranzberg in the course of the regional reform in Bavaria on July 1, 1972. Since 1953, the Technical University of Munich has maintained an agricultural research station in Viehhausen belonging to the Weihenstephan State Estate. In the vicinity of Viehhausen in the Kranzberger Forest is the Oberberghausen desert with the St. Clemens Church .
