Gemunde is a former municipality in the city of Maia in northern Portugal .

Gemunde was a community ( freguesia ) in the district ( concelho ) of Maia , in the district of Porto . On June 30, 2011 the community had 5,103 inhabitants on an area of 5.5 km².
As part of the administrative reorganization in Portugal in 2013, the municipality of Gemunde was merged with the municipalities of São Pedro de Avioso , Santa Maria de Avioso , Gondim and Barca to form the new municipality of Castêlo de Maia .
