Barca is a former municipality in the city of Maia in northern Portugal .

Barca was a municipality ( freguesia ) in the district ( concelho ) of Maia , in the district of Porto . On June 30, 2011 the community had 2644 inhabitants on an area of 3.3 km².
As part of the administrative reorganization in Portugal in 2013, the municipality of Barca was merged with the municipalities of Gemunde , Gondim , Santa Maria de Avioso and São Pedro de Avioso to form the new municipality of Castêlo de Maia .
