Moreira is a municipality in northern Portugal . It belongs to the Porto metropolitan area .
The Porto airport lies partly in Pedras Rubras, Moreira in the municipality.
history
The place was probably created during the Reconquista . Moreira was officially mentioned for the first time at the beginning of the 10th century. It has belonged to Maia County ever since.
The place was the scene of the Miguelistenkrieg after the Liberal Revolution in 1822 , as a camp of the liberal armies in 1832.
