Vielitz is a district of the community of Vielitzsee in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district in Brandenburg . In 2010, around 260 people lived here.
location
Vielitz is about 5 kilometers away from Lindow (Mark) on the county road 6803. The place is on a hill above the Vielitzsee . It is characterized by large brick courtyards. While the older part extends along the slope edge of the embankment, the later extended part extends to the southeast.
history
In 1317 a Hinricus de Viliz was mentioned, whose relation to the place is not clear. In 1362 there was a Johann Viliz.
The village was devastated in the Thirty Years' War and settled again in 1680 with colonists, mostly of Swiss origin.
Vielitz belonged to the Ruppin rule , then to the Ruppin district in different rule structures. In 2001 the community of Vielitz merged with the community of Strubensee to form the community of Vielitzsee.
