Joachim Adrian von Rhede (* around 1620 ; † after 1660 ) was canon in Münster .

Life

Joachim Adrian von Rhede came from the Emsland family von Rhede zu Brandlecht , who held the fiefdom of Brandlecht Castle from the 2nd half of the 15th century until 1715 . Joachim Adrian was the son of Johann Albrecht von Rhede zu Brandlecht and Saesfeld and his wife Agnes Sybille von Asbeck zu Gaer. On June 13, 1653, he was presented by his brother Johann Heinrich for the cathedral priest of the late Canon Rembert Ketteler . On July 17th of that year he took possession of the prebende, against which Ferdinand von Fürstenberg filed a complaint with the Curia in Rome. It was a matter of dispute here whether Joachim Adrian had become the authorized owner. Due to the suspension and excommunication of the cathedral dean Bernhard von Mallinckrodt , the cycle was changed, which the prince-bishop had not taken into account. Finally, it was initially agreed that Joachim Adrian renounced in favor of Duke Johann Friedrich von Braunschweig-Lüneburg , but in return he received the prebend from his brother Johann Heinrich. The next day Joachim Adrian changed his mind and now wanted to waive in favor of Fürstenberg, provided that he withdraws his lawsuit in Rome. So he renounced in 1656 and asked again for approval on August 1, 1659. The cathedral chapter rejected this request because Joachim Adrian had come into the possession of the prebende at his own risk in 1653. So he married Margaretha Elisabeth Sibylla von Cobolt zu Tambach.
