The Vienenburger Kiesteiche are a former nature reserve in the Lower Saxony city of Goslar in the Goslar district .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG BR 019 was 27.5  hectares in size. It bordered directly on the nature reserve " Okertal south of Vienenburg " and was part of the EU bird sanctuary "Okertal near Vienenburg". The area was placed under nature protection on November 2, 1979. In 2017, the nature reserve “ Oker and Eckertal in the districts of Goslar and Wolfenbüttel ” , which was designated as of May 1st, came up. The responsible lower nature conservation authority was the district of Goslar.

The former nature reserve is located on the left bank of the Oker between Goslar and the Goslar district of Vienenburg . It turned three former gravel ponds in the area of Okersteinfeldes in Okertal under protection, which by the exploitation of the deposited from the Oker gravel masses from the resin are formed. The ponds, which are separated from each other by dams, were transformed into a reserve for waders and water birds with vegetation-free shallow water zones , reeds , large sedge groves and marsh- like islands in deep water areas in 1977 after the end of the dismantling . The ponds serve as a secondary habitat for numerous bird , fish , amphibian and insect species.

The former nature reserve borders the federal highway 241 in the northwest .
