The Viereggenhöfer pond is a pond in the urban area of Wismar in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The southern part belongs to the municipality of Dorf Mecklenburg . The water is poorly structured and lies in a shallow dead ice depression , which mossed in the post-ice age. Two small peninsulas protrude from the west and north into the water. The pond has a north-south extension of about 800 meters and a maximum west-east extension of about 620 meters. Larger parts of the pond bank, especially in the south, are swampy and mostly reed. The Wallensteingraben , with which the pond is connected by a ditch, runs south of the water . The Viereggenhöfer pond belongs to the nature reserve pond area Wismar-Kluß . There is an allotment garden by the pond and several smaller fish ponds nearby.
