Vierling Production GmbH is a communications technology and electronics company founded in 1941 by Oskar Vierling in Ebermannstadt near Forchheim. Today Vierling specializes in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) and Engineering ( E2MS ) (electronics manufacturing as a service).

The company manufactures and develops electronic assemblies ( SMT assembly / THT assembly ), devices and systems on an area of ​​over 5,000 m² . As an EMS provider, Vierling supplies customers in all sectors (including the automotive industry, information technology, telecommunications, satellite navigation, automation, medical, aviation and measurement technology) with development and manufacturing services. Vierling's services are now divided into the following segments:

  • Development: Creation of specification sheets , functional specifications , feasibility studies, rapid prototypes, samples and proofs of concept as well as hardware and software design.
  • PCB assembly: assembly with SMD components ( surface-mount devices ) up to the 01005 design, ICs with fine pitch up to 0.4 mm as well as micro-BGAs and LGAs using SMT ( surface-mount technology ) lines with high-speed and Precision assembly or through THT assembly ( Through Hole Technology ).
  • Final assembly and delivery: assembly of the electronics in the housing, integration of additional modules, cabling and assembly parts as well as packaging and shipping to the customer.
  • Testing and checking: Vierling has various test methods: z. B. Automatic optical inspection (AOI), in-circuit test (ICT), flying probe test (FPT).
  • Repair of electronic assemblies, devices and systems.

history

The company was founded in 1941 by the German physicist Oskar Vierling at Feuerstein Castle near Ebermannstadt. As an early development, the first radio link was built and tested in the newly established research laboratory. The opposite station was in what is now the Lindersberg Scout House .

In the 1950s, Vierling delivered the first testing devices to the Deutsche Bundespost with transistors, later based on microprocessors. At the end of the 1970s, Vierling developed the television TED, the televoting process for “ Wetten, dass ..? ". In cooperation with Deutsche Telekom , measurement technology (measurement system 90) was developed and the development and production portfolio was expanded to include GSM gateways in the 1990s .

  • Awards: Most successful EMS provider from Germany, Austria and Switzerland at the Best EMS Award 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019 with a total of 25 awards.
