View from a Blue Moon is an American surf film from 2015 and the first film about surfing to be shot exclusively in 4K resolution.

The film premiered on November 11, 2015 in seven simultaneous locations around the world, in the United States , Japan , Australia , South Africa and France . In Germany, the film started on November 12, 2015 and was then shown in selected cinemas.

View from a Blue Moon accompanies the globally successful surfer John John Florence and his closest friends on their way from their home on the north coast of Oahu to his favorite surfing spots around the world. From the turquoise blue waters of the South Pacific to the darkest, undiscovered surf spots in Africa, Florence faces many challenges to live up to his reputation as the most talented surfer of all time.
