Vigridisen

The Vigridisen ( Norwegian ) is an ice shelf on the Princess Astrid Coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It lies south of the headland of Breiodden .
Scientists from the Norwegian Polar Institute named it after the Vigrid plain , on which, according to Norse mythology, the final battle of Ragnarök between giants and gods is fought .
