Viktor Hahn

Viktor Hahn CSsR (born June 6, 1931 in Vienna ; † October 9, 2019 in Cologne ) was a German religious priest and Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

Viktor Hahn's parents came from the Sudetenland and he grew up in Eger (Cheb). He entered the Redemptorist Order in 1953 and was ordained a priest in 1959 . In 1965 he was the first doctoral candidate to obtain a doctorate in theology from Joseph Ratzinger in Münster . From 1969 to 1998 he was professor for fundamental theology and dogmatics in Hennef (University of the Redemptorists) and Sankt Augustin ( University of the Steyler Missionaries ). After that he worked in adult education and retreat accompaniment. Most recently he lived in the Maria Hilf senior monastery in Cologne-Ehrenfeld .
