Viktor von Oertzen

Viktor von Oertzen (born June 24, 1948 in Ratingen ) is a German journalist.

Life

From 1958 to 1967 v. Oertzen the new language grammar school in Ratingen. On a scholarship from AFS , he attended a high school in Minnesota , USA , from 1965 to 1966 . From 1967 to 1973 he studied economics and political science at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen and wrote articles for various national newspapers during his studies.

From 1969 he worked as a freelancer for Südwestfunk at the Tübingen regional studio, where he also met his wife. In 1972 he was permanently hired by the SWF and took over the role of state parliament correspondent in Stuttgart. In 1974 he moved to Baden-Baden , where he became editor / editorial manager of the regional program Abendschau .

From there he was posted to Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 1979 as ARD television correspondent for Latin America . After his work abroad, he returned to Baden-Baden, where he was editor of the ARD program Report under Franz Alt . In 1986 he left the SWF and was head of the television editorial office for domestic affairs at Süddeutscher Rundfunk ( SDR ) in Stuttgart for two years .

He then took over as head of the “Politics and Society” program area and deputy TV editor at SDR. In 1991 he was supervised with the task of founding a main department for state television broadcasting in Baden-Württemberg in cooperation with the SWF. In 1998 he became the main department head of the "Land und Menschen Fernsehen Baden-Württemberg" division of the SWR, which emerged from the merger between SWF and SDR, and deputy state broadcaster. From July 1, 2002 he received the special task of coordinator "freelance work" from then director Peter Voss . As a result of this function, he was offered the position of Head of the Personnel, Fees, Corporate Development and Deputy Administrative Director in November 2003. In this function he was automatically a member of the structural commission of the SWR and was thus able to take part in many change processes. Within ARD, he helped to prepare the establishment of the ARD / ZDF media academy and represented ARD in the "Nordic Group" of the EBU. On July 1, 2007, he became administrative director of Südwestrundfunk in Stuttgart and was thus responsible u. a. for finance, human resources and corporate planning. In 2009 he became chairman of the ARD / ZDF finance commission for two years. Viktor von Oertzen has been retired since September 1st, 2012 and lives in Baden-Baden.
