Andreas Vilberg (born November 14, 1985 in Bærum ) is a former Norwegian ski jumper .

Career

Vilberg started in Lauscha in January 2002 for the first time in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup (COC). In the following years he only competed in COC and FIS Cup competitions in Norway . After being in March 2006 with the in Oslo and Lillehammer held World Cup competition was launched for the first time in first class competitions, he participated throughout the COC summer competitions of 2006. There he was able to achieve good results and at the end of the season he finished seventh in the overall standings. In the winter of 2006/07, in which he started again in the COC, he could not build on the good summer form and only achieved mediocre placements. Although he showed only moderate performance in the 2007 COC summer competitions, he was used in several competitions of the Summer Grand Prix , but always missed the second round. After he was able to achieve a result in the top ten with a seventh place at the season opener of the Winter Continental Cup 2007/08 in Pragelato , he was used a week later at the World Cup in Trondheim . There he was able to place himself in the points for the first time with an 18th and a 25th place. In the further course of the season he got several World Cup appearances, but also jumped strongly in the Continental Cup and celebrated his first victory there on December 22, 2007 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . He was also able to convince at the 2008 COC summer competitions and won another competition on September 14th in Lillehammer. After that, however, Vilberg could no longer build on these achievements. In the next two years he started exclusively in the Continental Cup, the 2010/11 season he was only used nationally.

After these three unsuccessful years, he announced at the end of May 2011 that he would end his career and announced that he would work in the material department of the Norwegian team from the 2011/12 season. For the 2014/15 season Vilberg took over the position of co-trainer for the Norwegian national team.
