Vilhelm "Vilho" Vauhkonen (born February 6, 1877 in Pieksämäki , † February 1, 1957 in Helsinki ) was a Finnish marksman .

successes

Vilho Vauhkonen took part in the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912 and in Antwerp in 1920 . In 1912 he finished fifth in the team competition with the free rifle in the three-position battle, while he finished the individual in 41st place. Eight years later, Vauhkonen competed in eight disciplines and achieved a top ten placement in seven of them. In the prone position with the army rifle, he won the bronze medal in the team competition alongside Kaarlo Lappalainen , Voitto Kolho , Veli Nieminen and Magnus Wegelius , in the individual he was fourth. In the three-position fight with the free rifle, he also missed another medal win as fourth with the team. He finally secured a second bronze medal in the team competition of the Running Deer in a double shot when he finished third behind Norway and Sweden with Yrjö Kolho , Robert Tikkanen , Nestori Toivonen and Magnus Wegelius.
