The Villa Bozi is a former residential building in Bielefeld in the Mitte district and is a monument .

history

The entrepreneur Carl Bozi (1809–1889) had the villa built by 1852. Together with his brother Gustav, the businessman ran the business of the once well-known Vorwärts spinning mill , the first machine spinning mill in Bielefeld. With the construction of the villa in a prominent location, Carl Bozi wanted to demonstrate his status as a successful entrepreneur to the long-established industrialists. The proximity to the Kisker and Delius families played a role. The villa was built in the Irish country house style and has a garden with a guest house. Until 1960 it was owned by the Bozi family. She then acquired the German Red Cross and ran an office there. In 2005 the villa was acquired by a Bielefeld entrepreneur. After extensive renovation work, the main building is used for retail. The Bozi family's guest house in the garden houses a hotel.

Alfred Bozi lived in the house as a magistrate in Bielefeld, at that time still at Wertherstrasse 2.
