Villa Knittl in Feldafing

The Villa Knittl in Feldafing , a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Starnberg , was built in 1909. The villa at Rat-Jung-Straße 22 is a protected architectural monument .

history

The single-storey Schopf hipped roof building in reform style with risalits and partly with half-timbered gable was built by the master builder Engelbert Knittl (1882–1963). He is the youngest brother of Xaver Knittl (1873–1933), who continued the construction business of his father Josef Knittl in Tutzing . Engelbert Knittl took over the construction business of the famous Feldfinger master builder Johann Biersack (1840–1907) in Feldafing in 1907 . Engelbert Knittl built the Villa Knittl in Feldafing as a family home. It is very similar to the listed Villa Knittl in Tutzing, which his brother Xaver took over from his father around 1900 and expanded.
