Villa Neumayer
The Villa Neumayer is a villa at Cäcilienstraße 58 in Heilbronn , which is a listed building.
description
The two-storey villa on the corner of Cäcilienstraße and Wilhelmstraße is a building with an asymmetrical and vertical structure. This is done through the “ ellipsoidal stand bay ” along Cäcilienstraße and the corner bay. The facade has been designed in plaster with architectural details such as oculi , console figures and relief figures of the window reveal in sandstone.
history
The villa was built in 1909 by Jakob Saame for the dentist Willi Neumayer. In 1950, in addition to Neumayer's dental practice, the practice of internist Erich Spohr was in the building. The shops in the basement were used by the grocery store Karl Kimmerle and the tobacco dealer Albert Throm. Instead of the grocery store, a cobbler soon moved in. At the time when Wollhausplatz was subject to structural restructuring, the city administration also planned to demolish the houses on Cäcilienstraße. However, the then Federal President Theodor Heuss objected to this. Today a grandson of W. Neumayer, Peter Neumayer, lives in the building, who is a dentist like his grandfather.
Art historical significance
The building is an example of the " Baroque Art Nouveau ":
" The building sculpture also shows the coexistence of baroque forms (e.g. elliptical oculi with floral craftwork framing) and Art Nouveau motifs, which are sophisticatedly designed as figurative building details on the corner bay window (console figures, relief figures of the window frame) ."
