Villa Black

The Villa Black is a historical under monument protection standing villa in Leverkusen-Opladen .

history

Around 1906, according to the cadastral plan 1907, the building was built for a Gregor Schwarz. The next owner was director Fritz Nobbe, which is evidenced by a building permit that identifies Nobbe as this. A description of the door canopy by IG Farben in 1939 also proves that the building was a Bayer AG factory owner's villa . The villa has been a listed building since November 18, 2004 .

Building description

The villa is a solid building with an almost square floor plan. This gives their external shape the appearance of a cube. In the east-west and in the north there is a risalit that extends over the entire height and carries a gable roof . This merges into the hipped roof , which covers the main body of the house , via integrated throats . On the south side, a dormer was designed as a roof house, which has a curved pyramid roof. This roof has a conical roof finish made of zinc . The entrance area is dominated by a towering tower.

The facade consists of exposed brickwork . The building is distinguished from the road, which was laid out of gray cobblestones at this point, through a clinker base of red color. The facade is also structured by a red cornice . Terrazzo block steps lead to the door, which has been preserved from the construction period . It is equipped with "half-stone-shaped recessed clinker bricks", has two wings and is made of oak. There are glass inserts in the door that are protected with grids and can be opened from the inside. The brass knobs, which have the shape of a lion's head, can be another indication of Bayer AG's influence on the building.

Adjacent to the building is another solid body that serves as a garage. The base of this building is light gray, the rest of the brick building is lightly plastered with slurry plaster. A two-leaf gate is attached, which is characterized by vertical planking.
